The Skateboard Platform for Direct Air Carbon Capture

In the modern automotive industry, companies don't design every vehicle from scratch. Instead, they build on an advanced, unified "skateboard" platform containing the motors, thermal loops and digital brains. Aquairo is applying this high-leverage model to Direct Air Carbon Capture.

Project Carousel is engineering the physical chassis — the structural, mechanical and digital foundation shared by every future generation of the platform. Sorbent developers integrate their proprietary carbon-capture materials through a standardised interface, without needing to design an entire capture facility from first principles. Whenever the chemistry improves, the chassis upgrades seamlessly without costly or time-consuming structural redesign.

As improved sorbents, software, heat recovery systems and operating methods emerge, they can be incorporated into the existing platform without redesigning the underlying industrial architecture.

The result is a Direct Air Capture platform designed to remain upgradeable as capture technologies continue to evolve.

Independent Technical Challenge

Aquairo intends to establish an Industrial Advisory Council comprising recognised leaders across engineering, manufacturing and industrial scale-up. Its purpose will be to provide independent technical challenge, strategic guidance and industrial insight as Project Carousel progresses through its engineering programme.
